When they found out where he came from, they knew he had to stay ❤️

Eight years ago, in the dead of night, a mysterious intruder broke into a Michigan nursing home. While the residents of Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility were sound asleep, the staff members found a dog they didn’t recognize curled up on the lobby’s couch.
Presumably, the dog had just walked through the building’s automatic doors. But they couldn’t figure out where he’d come from or why he’d curled up on their couch.
The assisted living facility staff members called the local sheriff, who pieced together that the dog had escaped from the animal shelter across the street. They returned the dog to the shelter, thinking that was the last they’d ever see of him.
But they were mistaken. The dog felt so drawn to their cozy home that shortly after, he returned.
“A couple evenings later, again, this black dog [was] found sleeping on the couch,” Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility wrote on Facebook.
Once again, they returned the pup to the shelter. But they couldn’t help but notice that the dog seemed to fit right in at the senior living community.
The third time the dog broke into the lobby, the staff members realized that maybe he was just meant to stay there. One of the facility’s administrators decided to adopt the dog and name him Scout.
Scout was deemed the senior home’s official mascot. The staff allowed him to roam around freely, getting to know the residents. In no time at all, it was like he’d always been there.
“He quickly made this household his [own],” Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility wrote.
As Scout got more comfortable, some retirees started noticing that he had a knack for opening doors to sneak into their rooms for treats.
“We soon found out that Scout can open doors and later learned that he could climb fences,” Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility wrote. “Which would explain how he kept escaping the animal shelter.”
In addition to serving as the care facility’s mascot, Scout also quickly stepped into the role of security guard.
“Scout definitely protects his household and is always the first to get to the door when the door bell rings,” Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility wrote.
Most importantly, though, everyone has fallen in love with Scout’s sweet, loving personality. He brightens the days of everyone who passes through the facility, and for the eight years he’s now lived there, he’s been an integral part of the community.

“Scout truly brings joy to our residents, staff and visitors,” Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility wrote. “This is his home. He chose us.”

Man Stops In His Tracks When He Sees Fuzzy Head Sticking Out Of AC Unit
She desperately needed help.
The night of October 5, a Mesa, Arizona, resident named Victoria Reese got a call from her boyfriend about a cat stuck in a dire situation. Over FaceTime, her boyfriend showed her a kitten he’d just come across who’d gotten stuck in an AC unit.
Reese, a cat lover who’s rescued several kittens throughout her life, knew she had to help. She rushed over to meet her boyfriend, and was terrified by what she saw when she arrived.
“Through FaceTime, I didn’t understand how severe the situation was,” Reese said on TikTok. “When I got there, she was stuck inside this 400- to 500-pound industrial AC unit, and it was really bad.”
The kitten’s head was sticking out of a hole in the unit too small to fit her body through. Reese and her boyfriend couldn’t tell how long the baby had been trapped there, but she clearly wasn’t doing well — she could barely move and her head was limp and lifeless.
Thankfully, the AC unit wasn’t plugged in and didn’t seem to be operational, so Reese and her boyfriend were able to maneuver it to try to free the kitten. They managed to flip the huge unit onto its side to try to grab the kitten from a different angle. Using olive oil and dish soap, they tried to slide her out, but nothing was working.
Desperate for help, they called the fire department. Reese and her boyfriend worked with a firefighter to push the kitten through the hole. Finally, after two hours of work, the kitten was freed.
“I’m just so glad that we were able to get her out and save her,” Reese said.
As soon as Reese got home with the kitten, she knew she just had to keep her. She decided to name her Olive, after the olive oil and Palmolive soap she and her boyfriend had used to get her out of the AC unit.
“This little cutie is now a part of our family forever,” Reese said.
Reese took Olive to the vet, who told her that the kitten just 2 weeks old. Getting stuck in the AC unit had taken quite a toll on Olive, which meant she would need extra care. Thanks to Reese’s love and attention, Olive has grown by leaps and bounds in just a few days.
“She’s learning how to walk properly and is starting to play a little bit,” Reese said. “Seeing her grow so fast is making me so emotional.”
Now that Olive is safe and sound in Reese’s home, Reese has been enjoying pampering and spoiling her as much as possible. Olive spends most of her time wrapped up in a cozy, warm blanket. Soon, the AC unit Reese and her boyfriend rescued her from will be nothing but a distant memory.
