Five years ago, Reddit user ReindeerTiny4401 adopted an adorable puppy with a unique look named Buddy. Buddy, a shar-pei, German shepherd and rottweiler mix, quickly bonded with his new mom, and the two became a dynamic duo that vowed never to change.
Until one day, when ReindeerTiny4401 saw a picture on social media that made her do a double-take.
In the photo, a dog on Dallas Animal Services’ (DAS) euthanasia list is pleading for a home. As soon as ReindeerTiny4401 zoomed in on her face, she realized the pup resembled her best friend.
“A post just came up on my Facebook timeline,” ReindeerTiny4401 wrote on Reddit. “[I] realized she looked like my dog and immediately inquired about her.”
The dedicated dog mom was immediately intrigued. Not only did this pup, Candy, have the same face as Buddy, but she was at the same shelter he’d been adopted from all those years ago.
When ReindeerTiny4401 contacted DAS, her suspicions were confirmed.
“She was my dog’s littermate,” ReindeerTiny4401 wrote in a comment. “I adopted my dog buddy when he was a puppy, and Candy got adopted by another family. In December, they surrendered her to DAS.”
Without skipping a beat, ReindeerTiny4401 agreed to adopt Candy and rushed to the shelter to get her. The poor girl was timid after spending most of her life outside, and she was heartworm positive. But ReindeerTiny4401 promised to help her recover emotionally and physically.
“She was so scared when I first picked her up,” ReindeerTiny4401 wrote. “[She] ducked her head, never wagged her tail. You could just tell how hard she’s had it.”
ReindeerTiny4401 showered Candy with love the entire way home, but the poor girl was still nervous about all the change. Then she saw her brother.
“They had a special bond instantly,” ReindeerTiny4401 wrote in a comment.

Buddy and Candy hit it off right away, as if no time had passed from when they were tiny littermates. Soon, the shut-down girl was out of her shell and ready to take part in all her family’s favorite activities.
“Within a few days, she started opening up and trusting us more,” ReindeerTiny4401 wrote. “She now wags her tail, has so much confidence, loves to play with her brother, and she knows that going outside is a sanctuary, not her home. She’s the best dog ever.”
It’s been a few months since Candy officially reunited with her brother, and the two couldn’t be happier. Although they spent five years apart, the pair of siblings is bonded as if they’d always been together, just as their mom had hoped.
“They’re best friends!” ReindeerTiny4401 wrote.

Pure Joy As Dog Remembers Why This Is Her Favorite Day Of The Week
She’s memorized the ice cream truck’s schedule 🍦
By Ashley Ortiz
It’s a summery Wednesday afternoon in the United Kingdom, and Macey, a 3-year-old Staffordshire terrier, has her eyes glued to the window. She knows someone special is on their way with a sweet treat and refuses to miss them.
Within minutes, her ears perk up as a familiar tune plays in the distance. When she finally sees the pink-and-white van drive past her window, her tail whips in a frenzy, and she bolts to the door.
Macey has almost everything she wants inside: a loving set of parents who dote on her night and day, plenty of toys and tons of her favorite snacks. But nothing compares to the treats waiting for her inside the van.
“Every [Wednesday], Macey will hear the ice cream van half an hour before [it’s] finally in our street,” Macey’s mom, Charlotte Brooks, wrote on TikTok. “[It’s] her [favorite] day of the week.”
