“We realized pretty quickly that a coyote wouldn’t sleep on a couch … “

A few years ago, a mysterious animal showed up at Meredith Warfel’s Arizona backyard in the middle of the night. Based on the animal’s size and coloring, Warfel assumed the canine was a coyote.
Over the next few days, the animal kept hanging out in Warfel’s yard. For a week straight, she slept outside on Warfel’s patio furniture. Because the animal was so friendly, Warfel began to suspect that she might actually be a dog, not a coyote.
“We realized pretty quickly that a coyote wouldn’t sleep on a couch,” Warfel said on YouTube.
Warfel posted pictures of the dog on local social media groups to see if anyone was missing her. Most of the people who saw the photos thought that she was a coyote. At that point, though, Warfel was confident that she was a gentle, skittish pup and not a wild animal.
“She was so nervous, but we could tell she was the sweetest,” Warfel said.
No one ended up claiming the dog, so Warfel guessed that someone must have abandoned her on a nearby hiking trail.
“She came to us pretty beaten up,” Warfel said. “She had a lot of cactus [spines] in her from being in the desert. She was really malnourished and underweight.”
Warfel took the dog to a local humane society, where it was confirmed she didn’t have a microchip. They held her there for three days to make sure no one was going to come looking for her. While she was at the humane society, Warfel and her family visited every day.
While Warfel hadn’t been planning on adopting a dog, she realized she didn’t want to say goodbye. After all, the dog had selected her yard as a safe place to stay after being abandoned. Warfel named the dog Luna because she’d first visited her family at night under the light of the moon.
Luna adjusted quickly to being part of Warfel’s big family, which includes kids, four cats and even a bearded dragon. Once she realized she was finally safe, the playful side of her personality started shining through.
“She does think that she’s one of the kids, which she is,” Warfel said.
Luna’s favorite hobbies are playing Frisbee and swimming in the pool, although she prefers lounging on floaties over actually being in the water.
When Warfel looks back on that first night Luna visited her yard, she feels grateful that Luna chose her.
“[I]t was meant to be,” Warfel said.

This Strange Clump Of Snow In Woman’s Yard Is Actually Breathing
“[He’s] perfectly insulated” ❤️
By Ashley Ortiz
There’s nothing more serene than seeing a blanket of undisturbed snow after a light storm. But for one woman in Switzerland, the idea of a perfectly flat layer of snow is impossible no matter the circumstances.
Whenever there’s snow in Liz Vanderbrouk’s yard, she can always count on seeing a dark clump of fur nestled beneath the flakes. As the hours pass, snow accumulates around the fluffy mound until it’s almost completely buried.
