Recently, workers at an Amazon warehouse in Long Island, New York, were surprised to find a fluffy cat hiding underneath one of their delivery trucks. For weeks, the staff members kept an eye on the little visitor and gave him food. Eventually, they realized the cat wasn’t going anywhere, so they contacted local animal rescuer John Debacker for help.

Debacker used food to lure the cat out to safety. Then, as he usually does after saving a stray animal, he scanned the cat’s microchip. Debacker assumed the lost animal lived somewhere in the area. But the microchip said otherwise. It said the kitty was from Bermuda — an island over 700 miles away.

“I was shocked,” Debacker told The Dodo.
The rescuer reached out to the Bermuda SPCA, looking for information on the cat. Together, they managed to figure out the cat’s name — Frankie.
But how did little Frankie travel all the way from Bermuda to New York?

“We’re not sure if he was a stowaway or if the person that he belonged to moved to the States recently and he got loose,” Debacker told Bermuda Broadcasting in an interview at the time.
Debacker took Frankie to the vet and learned that he was about 15 years old. The rescuer enjoyed spending time with his new friend, and the pair quickly bonded.
“He’s a very sweet cat,” Debacker told Bermuda Broadcasting. “He’s a purr machine.”

Debacker connected with rescues all over the world. Little by little, he unraveled Frankie’s full story. Each detail proved more shocking than the last.
It turns out, Frankie was born in the United Kingdom, where he lived until moving to Bermuda. Frankie resided in Bermuda for a period of time, but was later given to a family in Turks and Caicos. Unfortunately, that family couldn’t keep him forever, so they found him a new home in South Carolina, where he lived for a short while before being surrendered, yet again, to a local shelter. Frankie’s final move came in 2017, when a New York rescue pulled him from the South Carolina shelter and brought him up north, where he’s been ever since.

Given his travels, rescuers started affectionately calling Frankie “Mr. Worldwide.”
Thankfully, Frankie doesn’t have to stress about moving anywhere else. He’s currently in good hands at Last Chance Animal Rescue, where staff members are helping him find a loving home where he can live out his golden years in peace. At last, this world traveler will have the quiet life he deserves.

Woman Finds Pile Of White Fluff Near Landfill — And Saves An Entire Family
“They would cuddle together to get warm” 🥺
By Ashley Ortiz
A few weeks ago, Logan’s Legacy 29 founder Suzette Hall received a devastating call for help. A Good Samaritan in Los Angeles, California, discovered a mound of white fluff near a landfill and soon realized it was a group of dogs trying to survive.
The nearly identical dogs were small and appeared to be puppies. But when Hall’s volunteer team eventually arrived at the landfill, they realized that one of the dogs was older than the others.
“A mama and her babies [were] left behind with the trash,” Hall wrote on Facebook. “They didn’t even leave food and water.”

Sadly, the mother dog, later named Feather, was left to care for her babies on her own, with no resources other than the trash under her paws. Despite the intense hunger and a flurry of fleas, Feather fought to keep her babies alive.
“She did everything to protect them,” Hall wrote. “They would cuddle together to get warm.”

Hall was heartbroken by the pictures of Feather and soon sent her trusted volunteers, Yamy Nuñez and Karla, to rescue them. While the volunteers rushed to the dump, a separate rescue group, All Dogs LA, stepped in to protect the dogs.
“I did not want them to end up in the wrong hands,” Hall wrote. “And I am so thankful to [All Dogs LA] for getting over there to protect them until help could arrive.”

When Yamy and Karla arrived at the dump, they quickly started corralling the fluffy family into their car. Some of the puppies, now experts in their surroundings, hid under discarded items to avoid being caught.

But the determined rescuers soon gathered the entire litter and drove everyone to the veterinary clinic.

While Feather and her babies, Pho, Daikon, Lychee and Nieve, all had bright futures ahead, the few days following their rescue were quite uncomfortable. All of the dogs were riddled with fleas, hookworms and roundworms, and Feather had a large umbilical hernia.
“Those poor babies,” Hall told The Dodo. “[It was] so painful.”

Thankfully, Feather and her babies powered through treatment plans and are now feeling better than ever. Their stories are still not over, as they are preparing to go into foster care and hope to find adoptive homes soon. But in the meantime, the tiny family is enjoying their new life filled with safety and love.
“Tonight, they are safe, and [Feather] can sleep and not have to protect her little babies ever again,” Hall wrote.
