Kate Hinds was volunteering at an animal rescue group when a young gray and white cat caught her eye. “After she came in, I called my husband up and said, ‘I think I found our next cat,’” Hinds told The Dodo. “He said, ‘Are you asking me or telling me?’”
It’s been 10 years since Norah joined the Hinds family, and they couldn’t be more devoted to her. “My daughters adore her,” Hinds said. “Some days I feel like my cat has a full-time live-in staff of four people.”

Recently, Norah’s fanbase has grown thanks to her habit of sleeping in out-of-the-way spots around the house. A photo of Norah in her favorite sleeping nook recently went viral when Hinds posted it on Twitter with the simple directive: “Find the cat.”

The photo stumped thousands of Twitter users scanning the scene for fur.
Can you find Norah?

Norah is an expert at squeezing into tight spots where she feels coziest. “During the day, she sleeps in whatever spot she’s in the groove of,” Hinds said. “Lately, it’s behind the television, which is one of her favorite summer locations. If we can’t find her we’ll say, ‘Norah must be in her summer home.’”
Still can’t find her?

Hinds has continued to baffle Norah’s fans with a series of photos of the cat’s favorite sleeping places. Even though Hinds’ apartment is on the smaller side, sometimes the sneaky cat even manages to stump her mom.
“We know 99 percent of her hiding spaces. Usually, I can find her right away. But sometimes she’ll find a new spot,” Hinds said. “When my daughter went to college, Norah took to climbing the ladder and sleeping in her bunk bed — that took me a couple of hours to figure out.”
Can you find Norah blending into this coatrack?

Can you find her?

“She also sometimes sleeps behind my plants, which can be very risky, because sometimes she’ll knock them over when she jumps off,” Hinds said. “And yes, I’ve arranged my plants so that the poisonous ones are out of her reach.”

And … here she is!

Norah has a knack for hiding, but what she loves most of all is spending time with her family.
“She’ll sit with us at the dinner table,” Hinds said. “Then she’ll settle in the living room and sit on my lap while I read or watch TV. She purrs like the engine of an old VW Beetle. It’s the best.”

‘Guardian Of The Butterflies:’ Dog Swarmed By Monarchs On Every Hike
He’s the only one this happens to 😍
By Ashley Ortiz
There’s nothing more serene than trekking through the Amazonian jungle and taking in the diverse wildlife around you — unless you’re a dog named Polar, whose white fur causes an immediate stir as soon as he arrives.
Polar, a mostly-white terrier mix, loves exploring Madre de Dios, Peru, with his parents, TikTok user @abychan12 (Abichan), and fur brother, Calvin. One of their favorite activities is hiking through the lowland jungle surrounding their neighborhood, but doing so always comes at a lighthearted cost for Polar.
You can see Polar on his daily hike here:

Of the many species of wildlife fluttering around the jungle, one group of winged friends — monarch butterflies — become instantly obsessed with Polar as soon as they spot his fur through the trees. They can’t help but swarm the pup, covering him with their bright orange wings from head to tail.
You can watch the butterflies swarm Polar here:

The hoard of butterflies blankets Polar’s back and neck for the few seconds he allows them to perch. As they dance around his body, their wings opening and closing in delight, the butterflies temporarily give Polar a new orange hairdo.
Polar remains temporarily patient.
As friendly as Polar is, he’s not a fan of walking around with many little friends on his back. He shakes the butterflies off and continues his hike, only to be swarmed again a few minutes later.
When Abichan posted a TikTok of Polar attracting the butterflies, one commenter had an idea as to why they were so obsessed with him.
“Butterflies perch on white surfaces,” TikTok user @karlysol3 (Karly Sol) wrote in a comment. “If you ever go to see monarch butterflies in Michoacán, [Mexico], wear white, and you’ll see.”
Abichan highlighted Sol’s comment and confirmed the user’s theory. She used Calvin, who has brown fur, as evidence.
“You’re very right; it’s because of his white fur,” Abichan responded. “Not a single insect landed on my other dog.”
So far, Polar is the only one out of his core hiking group whom the monarch butterflies seem to care about. And while that burden can sometimes get annoying, Polar can’t deny his special bond with his dozens of winged friends.
“Polar, guardian of the butterflies,” Abichan wrote on TikTok.
