They were only a few weeks old 😔

Baking in the hot Florida sun, a group of 16 puppies recently found themselves in a tough spot. The puppies had been abandoned in crates in a 7-Eleven parking lot. Now, they had nowhere to go.

Luckily, it wasn’t long before a man drove by and noticed the strange sight. He called Pasco County Animal Services for help. Soon, the dogs were safe in the hands of experts at Suncoast Animal League.

“Upon arrival [at] our shelter, the puppies seemed eager for human interaction,” Suncoast Animal League executive director Annette Dettloff told The Dodo. “Some were a little shy, but most were friendly and sought attention and love. Whoever had them before tried to give them love. They knew what love was.”
The puppies ranged in age from 7 to 9 weeks old. They needed foster families to care for them and help them grow. Suncoast Animal League put out a call for temporary homes, and soon area animal lovers began reaching out. In time, each puppy found their place.

“We really could not have asked for a better turnout from our community, who heeded our call for helping these pups,” Dettloff said.
These days, the puppies who once wallowed in a convenience store parking lot are romping through the halls of their foster homes, learning to be good dogs and preparing to meet their forever families.
“They are all flourishing and showing their foster families their cute little personalities,” Dettloff said. “Thankfully, they all seem to have taken that crazy day in stride!”

Dog Mom Posts On Facebook Asking People To Come Say Goodbye To Her Senior Pup
“There’s nothing more she loved than a stranger with food.”
Nayana Gadde, a pet photographer in Philadelphia, was planning to stay inside on a particularly cold winter day when she came across a Facebook post that changed everything. A dog mom had just found out she had to put her beloved pup down — and decided to throw her a last-minute goodbye party.
“This is my girl Louise, and if you live around East Passyunk, you may have seen her begging for pets and using her missing front leg for extra pity over the last decade,” Marlana, Lou’s mom, wrote on Facebook.

The post invited anyone in the area to come out to a designated spot to spoil Lou one last time with pets and treats, and as soon as she saw the post, Gadde knew she had to go.
“I love seeing how much people love their pets with gestures such as this,” Gadde told The Dodo. “I’m an associate photographer for The Tilly Project, which is a worldwide network of photographers that offer end of life sessions. My sessions are free with a donation of choice to City of Elderly Love, a local senior pet rescue.”

It was freezing in Philly that day, and the party was very last minute — but that didn’t stop dozens of people from coming out to give Lou a beautiful send-off. Marlana had encouraged people to bring dog-friendly snacks, namely cheese, and much to Lou’s delight, they all delivered.
“People fed her cheese, I think a cannoli and some other treats (lots of cheese, though),” Gadde said. “She loved the treats — it was almost as if she would be like, ‘OK, next in line to feed me, I’m ready!’”

Lou was showered with all of the love in the world, and her family was blown away that so many people had cared enough to make Lou’s last day on earth as perfect as she was.
“They all seemed so grateful that random strangers came out in the cold to meet Louise,” Gadde said.

As Lou’s mom said in the Facebook post, “There’s nothing more she loved than a stranger with food,” and it’s clear from her goodbye party that those strangers loved her just as much.
