He’s the leader of the pack now.

Every morning, Hilarie takes her dogs, Emmie and Gunny, for a walk around their neighborhood. Each time, like clockwork, a special visitor appears out of nowhere to join them on the journey.
“He always finds us,” Hilarie said in a video for The Dodo. “He’ll just pop out of a shrub.”
Of course, by now, Hilarie knows exactly who it is. It’s Oliver, the neighbor’s friendly cat, who insists on joining Hilarie and the pups on their jaunts.
After so many walks, Hilarie knows all of Oliver’s preferences.
“Oftentimes he goes out in front, like he’s the leader,” Hilarie said.
Though Oliver is clearly obsessed with every member of the pack, he’s developed a special bond with one of them.
“Oliver and Gunny, particularly, love each other,” Hilarie said. “As soon as we start our walk, they look for each other. When they greet, Oliver makes sure to touch Gunny with his tail.”

Hilarie enjoys documenting the gang’s daily walks on her Instagram page, where you can see scores of videos featuring Oliver’s daily “hello” and cat hugs.
The dog mom is endlessly charmed by Oliver, the unsuspecting guest who continues to brighten her daily routine.
“He’s just one of the family,” she said.
