Dog Insists On Being Involved In Housework — But In The Least Helpful Way

Ted’s in it for himself.

Cleanup time at Juliana Lima Queiroz’s home in Brazil is a bit more arduous than most — but not for a lack of others in the household participating in the process. Rather, because of it.

Namely, it’s Queiroz’s sweet dog, Ted, who makes things move a little slower than they otherwise would.

Ted, who’s 7 years old, has never once been asked to lend a paw with the housework. While his family would go about their chores, he’d mostly just laze, enjoying afternoon naps while others kept things tidy. But one day, as Queiroz’s husband swept the floor around him, Ted apparently felt the sensation of the broom’s bristles on his fur.

And from then on, things have never been the same.

“He started running around, chasing the broom so that we’d sweep him,” Queiroz told The Dodo. “Now he wants to be swept every day.”

As this video of Ted shows, it’s made cleaning the floor a bit more challenging:

Ted’s obviously not helping. He’s in it for the scritches.

But his family is always more than happy to oblige him.

“It’s not a big deal at all. We love that he discovered that,” Queiroz said. “Now, we simply sweep the porch — and him.”

Woman Goes To Take A Shower And Finds A Nest With Babies Next To Her Soap
She welcomed them with open arms.
By Alana Francis-Crow
This past summer, Berlin, Germany, resident Marlene Blanke went out of town for three weeks. When she went to take a shower the day she returned, she noticed something about the bathroom had changed while she was gone.

On the nook next to her shower where she and her roommate store their soap and shampoo, there was a pigeon nest with two parents and two chicks inside. Blanke quickly pieced together that the pigeons had gotten in through the small window in the bathroom.
