The first successful vacuum cleaner was invented in 1901, much to the delight of people who like to keep things clean. But the invention of vacuums did come with one notable downside.
Many dogs seem to despise them.
Given that vacuums are often quite loud and shrill, seeming to move about menacingly through the house, it’s no wonder they’re viewed with skepticism or hatred among some pups. But that’s not the case for all dogs.
Some act rather indifferent toward vacuums. Yet others have other feelings entirely.
TikTok user Akira recently shared footage of their little dog who just adores vacuums — so much so, in fact, it becomes pretty much impossible to use one for actual cleaning.
Here’s footage of her in action:
It’s unclear how this dog’s love affair with the vacuum got started, but it’s obvious that she simply can’t get enough of it.
And she’s not the only dog who feels that way:
While not all dogs are the biggest fans of vacuums, their families dealing with shed fur are usually the ones in need of them most. To help, here are The Dodo’s most recommended robot vacuums for dealing with pet hair.

Frostbitten Puppies Dumped In Freezing Weather Huddled Under Porch To Survive
It was minus 25 degrees Fahrenheit 😰
Last week, a cold snap in Cokato, Minnesota, brought frigid weather to the city. As temperatures dropped to minus 25 degrees Fahrenheit, Cokato homeowners noticed two puppies hiding under their porch, seeking shelter from the cold.
The homeowners had spotted two stray German shepherd sisters in their neighborhood earlier that week but hadn’t been able to catch them. They were shocked to discover the same puppies huddled under their porch days later.
